Mando Fun, with a three-wide move on the backstretch, swept the field from last to win the feature race at Northside Downs on Saturday (July 23).

After moving into fifth off the car, Mando Fun and driver Ryan Campbell sat steady through a :28.3 first quarter as the trailing field pulled around the pair. When the clock stopped at the :58.4 half, Mando Fun found himself shuffled back to last. Just before the three-quarter pole, Campbell pulled the nine-year-old gelding three-wide around the rest of the pack. Surging past a 1:30.1 third quarter mark, they kept on pushing to cross the wire in a two-length victory in 1:59.1, with a last quarter in :28.1.

A Better Man (John Kennedy) and Runaway Mystery (Harold LeBlanc) rounded out the triactor in the $1,600 Winners Over Pace. Mando Fun paid $7.20 to win.
