'Kennie' Triumphs In NJSS At Freehold

Jim Marshall III tipped Kennie Blue Chip off the pylons on the turn for home and passed by the breaking Winters Jewel in the stretch to win the $35,000 New Jersey Sire Stakes – Green Acres final for two-year-old trotting fillies this afternoon at Freehold Raceway.

Kennie Blue Chip ($3.40, $2.20, $2.10) trotted the mile in 2:01.1, a lifetime best, to pick up her second straight victory. She has finished in the top two in three of six starts and banked $27,765 for her owner-breeder, Blue Chip Bloodstock Inc. of Wallkill, New York.

The daughter of Muscles Yankee – Armonica Hanover, sent off as the 3-5 favourite, finished a length and a quarter ahead of Fast Vacation ($2.40, $2.20) and seven and three-quarters lengths ahead of Tracy My Love ($3.40).
