Reign Of Honor Repeats In Saratoga Open
The Kevin McDermott-trained Reign Of Honor won his second consecutive Open Handicap Trot at Saratoga Casino and Hotel on Sunday afternoon (July 10).
Regular driver Shawn Gray piloted the heavy favourite to the win in the $16,000 Open after getting away third and being hung out to the quarter in a swift 28 seconds. Taking the lead away from Bluffiner and driver Jordan Derue, Reign of Honor trotted home in 1:56, with a last quarter in :28.2. He paid $2.80 to win.
Arriving from competition at Woodbine Mohawk in this spring, Reign of Honor has won six of his seven starts at The Spa this year. The six-year-old son of Father Patrick is owned by Randy Zane of Laval, Que.
