Drivers' Race Remains Tight At Clinton
The battle for Clinton Raceway’s top driver is beginning to heat up after duelling hat tricks by Travis Henry and Tyler Moore during the 10-race card on Sunday (July 10).
Travis Henry kicked off the card with a going away victory with Terry Gallant trainee Fortune Tellers K in the top class for trotters on the card. Tyler Moore wasted no time getting his first win on the day by capturing Race 2 for local trainer Pat Bissett.
Henry countered with a romping score in Race 3 with Harpers Hat Trick, posting the fastest mile of the day of 1:57. Coincidentally, Henry completed his hat trick with the full brother to Harpers Hat Trick when he reached the finish line first with Dalhousie in Race 6. Moore completed his driving hat trick with wins in Races 5 and 9.
Coming into the Sunday card, Henry and Moore were separated by just two wins on the driver's standings with Henry leading Moore nine to seven. Their traded blows keeps the margin tight going into the July 17 card with Henry leading Moore 12 to 10.
Clinton Minor Baseball was trackside for their annual day at the races, and received strong support from fans for their 50/50 raffle and bake sale. The 50/50 raffle winner took home $755. Racing returns to Clinton Raceway on July 17th for a fundraiser for the Vanastra Curling Club.
