NYS Auditor To NYRA: Don’t Waste Funds

New York State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli has urged the New York Racing Association to remain fiscally conservative in light of the $48 million in capital it is expected to rake in annually from the gaming-enhanced Aqueduct Race Track for thoroughbreds

.

A report by the Times Union explains that NYRA’s operation have still not been shored up after a 2008 bankruptcy and a pair of ‘critcial’ audits.

"NYRA still has not conducted a top-to-bottom review of its financial operations and taken necessary steps to curb costs, particularly for staffing and consulting contracts," DiNapoli has stated in his most recent report on the organization.
