Dowling Sweeps Summerside Features
David Dowling was in top form on a rescheduled Sunday afternoon program at Red Shores at the Summerside Raceway, sweeping the top events.
Dowling bided his time in the $2,900 top class with Moonwriter, stalking from third while Dylan Sam (Ken Murphy) carved out the early fractions of :28.1, :58 and 1:27.3. Moonwriter pounced in the stretch drive with an individually timed final quarter of :28.1 for a nose decision in 1:56.2 over Three Truths (Marc Campbell) with Dylan Sam third. Colin Johnson trains the veteran Sportswriter pacer for owner Debbie Element of Village Green, P.E.I.
Dowling and Johnson also won the back-up pace with Panimal Kingdom in 1:55.4. Ubettimagoodone (Jason Hughes) was second in the $2,500 event ahead of Wild River Coyotee (Corey MacPherson).
Dowling ended with a triple on the Sunday program. His other win came in a 1:56 score for Rock The Baby from the Earl Watts stable.
