Warrawee Xenia Continues To Impress
The month of June has certainly been a productive one for trainer Shawn Steacy, and one of his brightest stars was an ultra-impressive winner once again Tuesday evening at Woodbine Mohawk Park.
Warrawee Xenia is the name, and trotting is her game. The three-year-old daughter of Walner-Endless Flirt extended her winning streak to three-in-a-row thanks to a solid-looking score in a career best of 1:53.2.
The 1-5 favourite got away third for driver Bob McClure, who had the filly on the move in the backstretch. She cleared to the top in an effortless manner and proceeded to wheel the field through middle splits of :57.3 and 1:26. She then used a :27.2 closing panel to seal the deal by 6-1/2 lengths over R Royal Port. Third prize in the $18,000 affair went to Socks N Crocs.
David McDonald, Dale Larson, Bertrand Gilhespy Stable and A K Malik Stable own the talented trotting lass who improved her sophomore record to 3-1-0 from four assignments. The four-time winner has banked $40,000 to date.
