Sophomores Spar In Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund

A trio of $20,000 Delaware Standardbed Breeders Fund divisions for three-year-old colts and geldings went post ward Monday at Harrington Raceway to complete their second leg of stakes action.

KDK Standardbeds' Heinikin Bythebay ($2.10, Tim Tetrick) completed a sweep of his eliminations in the first split with a 1:52 score for trainer Kevin Switzer. The Southwind Lynx gelding dominated his rivals for an easy score over Its Above Me Now and Bad And Boujee for his 11th lifetime win.

Meanwhile, Cavalli Pazzi Stables' Casinobags Vincent ($3.40, Victor Kirby) prevailed over Its Pronounced Jif and Badlands N Wine in the second split in 1:53.4.

The Roddys Bags Again gelding led throughout and held off the pocket sitter Its Pronounced Jif by a neck. Trained by Vince Copeland, Casino Bags Vincent notched his fourth win of the season.

The final division saw last week's track record holder, Johnny Badlands ($2.10, Corey Callahan) complete a sweep of his eliminations with a 1:52 win over Ds Heartland and Kennedy.

The Badlands Hanover colt led throughout for owner/trainer John Dixon.

It was one of four winners on the card for Callahan, who earlier prevailed in the overnight feature, the $20,000 Open Pace with Mike Casalino, Jr. and Dylan Davis' Shoobee Doo A ($5.20) in 1:52 over Movin On Up and Mack.

Shoobee Doo A, notched his fourth win of the meet off a strong surge in deep stretch off cover as pacesetter Mack retreated late and Movin On Up emerged through the passing lane.

Trained by co-owner Davis, it was his 30th lifetime win and second straight, with his June 13 1:49.3 being the fastest of the current Harrington meet.

For the next two weeks of racing prior to the summer break, live racing will be contested on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, post time 4:30 p.m. There will be no live racing on Mondays.
