Buckeye Stallion Series Continues Friday

Three-year-old colt pacers will take to the track, Friday, June 10, for the second leg of the Buckeye Stallion Series.  Six divisions with a total of 56 pacers will highlight the 17-race program with each division offering a purse of $17,500.

Four of the seven divisional winners from the first leg of the BSS will return, hoping to make it two wins in as many legs.  Bettor By Seaside, Dirty Harry Too, Fluff Yeahh, and Self Made were winners in the opening leg at Miami Valley Raceway on May 1.

In the first division, Shell Yeah will look for his fifth win in seven starts.  The son of Downbytheseaside is trained by Brain Boring.  Justin Irvine will be in the bike.  Shell Yeah is the favourite at 3-1.

The second division looks to be a wide-open affair as six of the ten colt pacers are looking for their first win of the year.  Steve Carter trainee Tre Cruz will drop down from the Ohio Sires Stakes ranks.  Brett Miller will drive the son of Yankee Cruiser.

Self Made and Aaron Merriman will try to win in the BSS for the second time this year.  Trained by Ron Potter, the son of Fear The Dragon, will do battle with Odds On Capitalism who is the favourite at 2-1 and second choice Dragononthebeach.  Odds On Capitalism is trained by Virgil Morgan, Jr. and will be driven by Brett Miller, while Tyler Smith will drive Dragononthebeach for trainer Kelly O’Donnell.

Trainer Todd Luther will send out Eminem Hanover in search of his fifth win of the campaign in the fourth division.  The Downbytheseaside colt makes his first start in Buckeye Stallion Series.  Trevor Smith will drive the 9-5 favourite.

In the fifth division, longshot Dirty Harry Too will look for the magic again.  In the first leg, Dirty Harry Too by Nob Hill High with Tony Hall driving was a 26-1 longshot and bested the field for trainer Mark Winters, Jr.  This time, Dirty Harry Too is tied for the longest shot on the board at 15-1.  The favourite is Robins Art.  Trained by Kent Saunders, the son of Art Official will have Tyler Smith in the sulky.

In the final division, two first leg winners will meet.  Bettor By Seaside will be driven by Tyler Smith for trainer Dean Glispie while Bret Schwartz trainee Fluff Yeah will have Trevor Smith driving.  The early morning favourite is Party Hill Boy.  Trained by Virgil Morgan, Jr. and driven by Mitchell Cushing Party Hill Boy will be looking for his fifth win of the year.   

The six BSS divisions are scheduled for races 3, 9, 11, 13, 15, and 16.  First race post time at Eldorado Scioto Downs is 3:15 p.m.
