Thomas P Two Tops At Grand River
Thomas P Two ($5.90) was the feature race winner on Wednesday (June 8) at Grand River Raceway for trainer/driver Wayne Henry.
The four-year-old gelding by Angus Hall went off as a 9-5 second choice in the $8,800 event. When the gate said go, Thomas P Two left out against three others, quickly making his way to the front first. After a :29.1 first quarter, his only challenger was Willywin. Battling for the front through :59.2 and 1:29.4 second and third quarters, Thomas P Two surged forward to comfortably win by three lengths in 1:59.1. Rounding out the triactor were Willywin (Tyler Borth) and Fortune Tellers K (Tyler Moore).
Thomas P Two scored his fourth win in nine starts for the year for owner Mark Wamp, totaling $19,468 in purses for the season. The 2021 Ontario Sired Autumn Series champion now boasts 11 career victories with nearly $60,000 in lifetime earnings.
