Austin Series, Legion Day At Dresden
This week's 11-race card at Dresden Raceway on Sunday (June 5) is highlighted by the second leg of the Mark Austin Pacing Series.
Doc Houston is the 2-1 morning line favourite in the first division of young pacers. The three-year-old Sportswriter gelding finished second last week after stepping off a :28.4 last quarter to pace his mile in 2:01. Scott Wray guides the Jack Wray pupil from post position two in the afternoon's eighth race.
Risky Idea is the favourite of the second division of the Austin Series after going wire-to-wire in 2:00.4. The four-year-old Sportswriter horse was impressive in victory and will try to repeat from post position four for driver Garrett Rooney and trainer Lindsey Kerr.
Dresden Raceway will be celebrating Legion Day at the track as all Royal Canadian Legion members will receive a gift at the track on top of the many weekly prizes and giveaways that will be up for grabs.
