Tioga Hosts NYSS Sunday
Tioga Downs welcomes two divisions of the New York Sire Stakes (NYSS) for three-year-old trotting colts on Sunday (May 29).
The David Menary-trained World At War Deo (Jody Jamieson) is the 2-1 morning line favourite in the $60,300 first division of the NYSS. The three-year-old colt by Chapter Seven races for the first time in 2022. He had four wins and banked six figures as a freshman for Ontario's Steve Heimbecker, Michael Guerriero and Menary Racing Inc., co-owners along with Blue Chip Bloodstock Inc. of Wallkill, N.Y.
Cool Papa Bell (Brian Sears) is the 2-1 top choice out of a field of nine in the $61,400 second division. The gelding by Chapter Seven is trained by Jim Campbell. He is one-for-one in 2022. The gelding has won four times in his career and has amassed more than $140,000 in earnings for Runthetable Stables of Montvale, N.J.
