Donald LaRush Passes

Donald LaRush

Former trainer and driver Donald LaRush of Milton, Ont. passed away peacefully at the Ian Anderson House Hospice on Saturday, April 30, surrounded by his family. He was 67.

Don was deeply devoted to his wife Nancy and his daughters Oleta (Eric) and Nicole LaRush. He was a loving and proud grandfather to Blake and Miles. Don is also survived by his sisters, Linda (Dave), Lillian (Jeff) and Susan, and their families and his extended family.

Don was hardworking and always willing to help a friend in need. His passion for horses and Standardbred racing gave him the opportunity to travel throughout Ontario while creating lasting friendships in the harness racing community. His love of adventure and travel took him to all parts of the world with his family by his side. Don will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Family and friends are invited to the McKersie-Kocher Funeral Home, 114 Main Street East, Milton, 905-878-4452 on Friday, May 6 from 7-9 p.m. and Saturday, May 7 from 1-2 p.m. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 7 at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel followed by a reception in the upstairs lounge. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations in Don’s memory may be made to the Ian Anderson House Hospice or to the Townsend Smith Foundation.
