Ward Dominates Opening Day At Marquis

Lance Ward stole the show on opening day at Marquis Downs on Saturday (April 30), winning four of the five races on the card.

Ward’s first win came in the second race, steering his trainee No Collusion to a pocket-popping 2:01.2 score in a $2,500 conditioned pace. From there, every winner came from Ward’s barn, with Lance steering Is Santa Real ($5.10) and Diggin A Trench ($6.10) to victory. He assigned the driving assignment for Outlaw Tootsieroll ($2.20) in the last race to Rick Schneider, who piloted the mare to a 2:01.4 win.

Marquis Downs continues racing on a Saturday-Sunday schedule with a card programmed for Sunday (May 1). Racing remains at the Saskatchewan oval through May 29.
