Justin Huckabone Scores Six Pack
Justin Huckabone had a night to remember on opening day at Vernon Downs on Saturday (April 16). He drove six winners in the same card for the first time in his career.
Among Huckabone's wins was Credit List, who captured the featured $7,000 Open Trot.
Discus Hanover went straight to the front. Credit List ($6.50) took over control just before hitting the first quarter in :29.3. He used a :29.3 second quarter to hit the half in :58.3. He breezed to three-quarters in 1:27.4.
As they made the turn for home, it was all Credit List as he opened by four lengths in the stretch. Joxter came flying late but had to settle for second as Credit List won in 1:57. Discus Hanover was third best.
Credit List is a seven-year-old gelding by Credit Winner. He is owned by Jonathan Appelbaum and trained by Huckabone. It was his first win this season. He now has 24 victories.
Huckabone’s other wins came with Winding Hill ($3.20), Tinker Taxi ($4.60), and Starlitsimple Rig ($8.20). He was driver-trainer for Da Boogie Man ($9.00) and Winning Legends ($3.30).
George Harrison had a driver-trainer double. He got his wins with Sir Real Games ($4.90) and Heid ($6.30).
Vernon Downs returns to live racing on Friday (April 22) with a post time of 6:05 p.m. (EDT).
