Kandor Hanover Cruising In Pennsylvania
Simply said, Kandor Hanover has been on a roll since shipping down to the Meadows
.
The connections of the six-year-old Tagliabue mare shipped the 20-time career winner south after last October's Breeders Crown at Woodbine Racetrack.
The decision seems to be paying off in spades.
On Wednesday, January 11 during the Pennsylvania oval's $22,500 Preferred Trot, Kandor Hanover, the only mare in the field, made a decisive quarter-pole move and went on to beat her male rivals handily.
The mare had been hammered down to 1-2 post-time odds, and justified that support by brushing to the lead early and getting the job done for pilot Brian Zendt.
The win, which came over a 'sloppy' track which was rated two second slow, was clocked in 1:56.2.
Bill Zendt conditions Kandor Hanover while in Pennsylvania for Online Stables, veteran Mohawk Racetrack-based trainer John Burns and J. Patrick Huber.
Since shipping to PA, Kandor Hanover has won six of her eight starts and has banked $73,125 in the process, thus pushing her career earnings past $456,000.
