Kwik Talkin Coasts In London
Amanda Fine trainee Kwik Talkin cruised to the top and held control to the finish to win the $13,000 Horses & Geldings Preferred 2 & 3 Handicap Pace on Tuesday (March 22) at The Raceway at Western Fair District.
Driver Austin Sorrie sent the 3-2 favourite to the point out of post four to a :27.2 first quarter to lead Racemup and Clever Character around the second turn. Kwik Talkin raced on an uncontested lead to a :57 half and accelerated into the backside as Clever Character mounted a first-over challenge out of third to three-quarters in 1:25.1. Despite the backside sprint, Clever Character closed on Kwik Talkin off the corner and made continuous gains to the finish, but Kwik Talkin held the lead to the beam to keep a head in front at the end of a 1:55.4 mile. Racemup settled for third and Pembrook Legacy N took fourth.
A seven-year-old stallion by Well Said, Kwik Talkin won his 18th race from 72 starts and now has earnings totalling $237,423. Lisa Henry owns the $5 winner.
