Canadian Horse Racing Hall Of Fame Sets Induction Gala Date
When the Canadian Horse Racing Hall of Fame (CHRHF) inductees for 2020 and 2021 were named, the CHRHF Board of Directors agreed the lifelong achievements of the people and horses included in these classes deserved the same recognition and celebration as those who preceded them. Due to the uncertainty of being able to safely gather groups for large events over the past two years, it was decided to wait until such time as inductees, their families and connections could once again celebrate together.
The CHRHF has announced a live Induction Gala is being planned for Wednesday, Aug. 3 to formally recognize the following inductees:
Class of 2020
Gary Boulanger, Mike Keogh, Sue Leslie, Paul MacDonell, Ben Wallace, Amour Angus, McWicked, Play The King, Rambling Willie, Tepin
Class of 2021
Jim Bullock, Vicki Pappas, Randy Waples, Great Memories, Heart To Heart, Not Too Shy
Additional details will be announced in the coming weeks.
Class of 2022 Nominations and Elections
Once the 2020 and 2021 inductees are formally inducted into the CHRHF, the nomination and election process will be completed for the Class of 2022. Nominations for 2022 will be accepted until August 26, 2022, and the CHRHF Class of 2022, consisting of a total of eight inductees (four from Standardbred categories and four from Thoroughbred categories) will be announced October 19, 2022. Nomination forms are available on the CHRHF website and can be submitted at any time before the August 26 deadline.
Class of 2023 Nominations & Class of 2022 and 2023 Inductions
In 2023, the nomination and election schedules will return the CHRHF's traditional timing, with the Class of 2023 announced in April 2023. Like the Class of 2022, the Class of 2023 will consist of eight inductees (four from Standardbred categories and four from Thoroughbred categories.)
The Class of 2022, along with the Class of 2023 inductees will be formally inducted in August 2023.
