Six-figure yearling Sea Lionness fronted the six-horse consignment of Greg Luther’s Black Magic Racing that sold Friday (Feb. 18) at onGait.com.

An unraced three-year-old daughter of Downbytheseaside from the Western Ideal mare Lionness Hanover p,2,1:53 ($21,280), Sea Lionness was purchased by Bill Donovan of Delray Beach, Florida for $80,000. She will be heading to the breeding shed with choice of stallion still to be determined. A half-sister to two-time Ohio Sire Stakes champion Queen Of The Pride ($802,129 - 1:50) and multiple Grand Circuit stakes winner Roaring To Go ($434,321 - 1:50.4), Sea Lionness sold for $200,000 at the 2020 Lexington Selected Yearling Sale.

Luther also sold the Sportswriter mare Off The Press p,2,1:52s ($174,543) for $21,600 to New York's Jim Crawford. Vortex Threetwenty, an unraced Well Said sophomore, brought a winning bid of $16,400 from Richard Briskey of Ohio. N Expense p,10,1:51.4s ($164,594) went to Delaware’s Jason Johnson for $11,000, Givemeonemoreshot p,5,1:52.2s ($104,271) sold for $10,400 to Tyler George of Indiana and Itiswhatitis p,2,1:53.1s ($68,455) reached a high bid of $5,900 from Daniel Dreyfuss of Colorado.
