Hot S-Bred Causes Holiday Havoc

Most people take the holiday season as an opportunity to relax, catch up with loved ones and take a load off. That may be the norm, but it sure wasn't for those that had to deal with a runaway that featured a taste for chaos

.

According to a report by the Dayton Daily News, six-year-old gelding Fox Valley Galaxy recently decided he wanted to put his naughty hoof forward.

The article explains that after having gone a couple of jogging laps over the course at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds in Ohio, 'Galaxy,' a career winner of 19 races, tried to take orbit. After having become very aggressive, the son of Sportsmaster dumped his driver, Sarah Meade, and bolted off the track.

Having taken no mercy on the jog cart, the career winner of $42,592 in purses then damaged a pick-up truck, disturbed a small pooch's naptime and made way for local traffic after exiting the grounds.

A witness to the event, Christian Taylor, described what he saw while he was driving on a local road just outside of the entrance to the fairgrounds.

“Out of the corner of my eye, I just see this huge horse with the buggy on the back come flying out the main entrance,” Taylor was quoted as saying. “I thought it was going to hit the telephone pole across the street, but it veered past it, and the buggy caught the pole and completely jolted the horse to a stop.”

The report states that Meade was fine, besides having received a scary jolt and a bit of a sore rear-end. Fox Valley Galaxy suffered some scrapes. Luckily for everyone involved, the sulky seemed to take the worst of the situation.
