Five Straight For Hurried Romance
Make it five-in-a-row and counting for distaffer Hurried Romance thanks to her facile score in a $6,000 assignment Monday evening (Jan. 24) at Fraser Downs.
In rein to owner/trainer Rod Therres of Langley, B.C., Hurried Romance blasted to the top in the six-horse affair and threw down fractions of :28, :59.2 and 1:27.4 before sealing the deal with a final quarter clocked in :28.1. She drew away to win by two lengths over Watch Me Boogie in 1:56, with Good Day Is Coming taking home the show dough.
The seven-year-old daughter of Dragon Again-Shes Just Rockin, who went three-for-seven last season, is now two-for-two to start her 2022 campaign. The 12-time winner upped her lifetime earnings to $114,222 with the win.
Therres sent out another pair of winners later on the card en route to celebrating yet another training triple at the oval. Riverunsnappy rallied to a 1:55.3 victory in Race 5 and stablemate Helter Skelter went down the road for a 1:54.3 tally in Race 7.
