Honey Do Jigtime Earns First Ontario Win
Maritime stakes champion Honey Do Jigtime lowered her lifetime mark to 1:54.1 while recording her first Ontario victory for new connections on Friday night at Woodbine Racetrack
.
Following her standout stakes season in the Maritimes for trainer-driver Clare MacDonald and Nova Scotia owners Morah Kerr and Phonsie MacEachern, the three-year-old pacing filly shipped to Ontario. She joined the Tony O'Sullivan stable and was purchased by Florida's Let It Ride Stables Inc., Robert Cooper Stables LLC and Dana Parham.
The daughter of Coastocoast Yankee-Gold Luck finished out of the money in her Ontario debut last week, but stormed home off second over cover to prevail in a four-horse photo in her second attempt tonight.
Driven by Scott Zeron, Honey Do Jigtime sat sixth for most of the mile in her $22,000 second race conditioning assignment before rallying home in :27.4 to edge out Synergy Seelster (Doug McNair), Pearl Handlepistol (Mario Baillargeon), and the popular Ronettica (Luc Ouellette). She paid $10 to win as the 4-1 second choice.
Honey Do Jigtime, winner of her divisional Maritime Breeders Final, Altantic Breeders Crown, Frank And Beth Stanfield Memorial, Bill Quigg Memorial, and Carl And Marj MacKenzie Memorial, now sports a record reading 13-4-2 in 20 starts with over $83,000 banked this year.
