Tetrick Takes Manhattan
Tim Tetrick made Yonkers Raceway his own personal playground Thursday night, winning six races, including five in a row at one juncture
. He drove in each of the dozen races.
After finishing seventh in the opener and fourth-placed-third in the second race, Tetrick won the $9,000, third-race pace with odds-on So Confusing ($2.70). The three-year-old lass paced her mile-and-one-sixteenth in 2:04.
Tetrick wound up sixth in the fourth race and third in the fifth, then dusted the competition in the next five races.
He won the $13,000, sixth-race pace with Bambinas Sorella ($2.80), getting the added distance in 2:02.2. Tetrick, along with Jam and Jelly ($4.90), won the $14,000, seventh-race trot (added-distance 2:04.3), then won the $14,000, eighth-race pace with short-priced Cams Oracle ($2.90) in an extra-distance 2:01.3.
Next up was Carbon Footprint ($7.30) in the $16,000, ninth-race trot (added-distance 2:04) before Raining Again ($4.20) was up in the $16,000, 10th-race pace (added-distance 2:00.2).
The roll ended as Tetrick and his transportation wound up fifth in each of the evening's final two events.
With the six-bagger, Tetrick's seasonal win total reached 732 placing him just five behind George Brennan's 737 and Dan Noble's 747 for harness racing's 2011 dash title.
