Veitch Files Appeal Over Dismissal

After having been fired by the Kentucky Horse Racing Commission earlier this week, former chief racing steward John Veitch has filed an appeal

.

The Courier-Journal has reported that the 66-year-old Veitch has cited age discrimination. He has also reportedly said that he should've been given notice of the KHRC's intent to fire him, and that he should've been given a chance to address the commission's move via hearing.

Veitch, a hall of fame thoroughbred horseman, had been at the centre of a KHRC probe into the running of Life At Ten in the 2010 Breeders' Cup Ladies Classic.
