Vintage Master Prevails At Chester
Double millionaire Vintage Master wore down favourite Big Bay Point to win the featured $60,000 Open Pace at Harrah's Chester on Sunday afternoon

Leaving from Post 6 in the eight-horse field, Vintage Master and driver Dan Dube got away fifth while Big Bay Point (George Napolitano Jr.) worked his way to command during a :26.4 opening quarter.
Big Bay Point proceeded to the half in :56.2, at which point Annieswesterncard (Yannick Gingras) launched a first over attack with Rockincam (Dave Miller), Vintage Master, and Andy Roo (Tim Tetrick) following him to the outside.
Big Bay Point picked up the pace en route to three-quarters in 1:23 as he was confronted by Annieswesterncard. The leader rebuffed that challenger as they moved into the stretch, but Vintage Master was full of late pace and angled three-wide around the final turn before unleashing a :26.3 final kicker to get up for the 1:50.2 win by a quarter length. Big Bay Point was forced to settle for second while Anniewesterncard finished one and half lengths behind over Rockincam and Andy Roo in a three-horse photo for show.
Vintage Master paid $9.60 to win as the 7-2 second choice.
The five-year-old on of Western Ideal out of Arts Vintage, a runner-up in this year's Dan Patch, is trained by Jimmy Takter for breeders Brittany Farms of Versailles, Kentucky and Brian Monieson Revtrust of Northbrook, Illinois. The win was his sixth in 19 seasonal starts and lifted his 2011 earnings to $254,280.
In other action, Ron Burke scored a training triple on the 14-race card with Colossal Cruiser ($8), Itrustyou ($19.60) and Rockin The House ($9.40). Yannick Gingras drove all three winners.
