'Cashback For Yearlings' Winners Announced
Standardbred Breeders of Ontario has confirmed the winners in its Cashback for Yearlings promotion. As an added incentive to buyers of Ontario-sired yearlings at Ontario sales this fall, the SBOA earlier announced that it would be awarding four $5,000 cheques to the new owners
.
Yearling names were drawn by lot on November 12, Ontario Sires Stakes Super Final night at Woodbine Racetrack, and registering bodies have now validated current ownership.
Selected from the eligible yearlings in the Canadian Yearling Sale was Hip #60--Dont Do Jets (Jeremes Jet--Dont Do Windows), a filly consigned by Preferred Equine Marketing, Agent, and sold for $9,000. A $5,000 cheque will be going out to the partnership of James MacEachern of Baileboro, Ont. and Gerry Coleman of Peterborough, Ont.
Also picked by lot from the Canadian Yearling Sale was Hip #304--Emil Oaks (Oaklea Julian--Semiconchess), a colt consigned by Oaklea Farm of Simcoe, Ont. and sold for $8,000. Ballykeel Racing of Tillsonburg will receive the SBOA bonus.
Chosen from the Forest City Yearling Sale was Hip # 7--IQ For Onefiftytwo (Jeremes Jet--Book Smart), a filly consigned by Preferred Equine Marketing, Agent, and sold for $3,000. SBOA will award $5,000 to joint owners Len Gamble of Etobicoke, Ont. and Tammy Lynn Turner of Rockwood, Ont.
Also earning the $5,000 SBOA bonus was the Forest City Yearling Sale’s Hip #154--Hip Hop Be Bop (Muscle Mass--Unique Rhythm) a colt, consigned by Kentuckiana Farms, Lexington, Kentucky and sold for $4,000. Terrance McVeay of Port Perry, Ont. is the owner.
This year’s Cashback for Yearlings is yet another of the many incentives and initiatives the SBOA has undertaken to stimulate the breeding and buying of Ontario horses.
