Lous Legacy Dominant At Freehold
Lous Legacy extended his winning streak to three with a ten and a quarter-length victory in the $35,000 New Jersey Sire Stakes – Green Acres final this afternoon at Freehold Raceway.
The son of the late Windsongs Legacy trotted the mile in 2:01.3, taking the lead at the quarter and drawing away with every stride.
Lous Legacy returned $3.20, $2.10, $2.10. Runner-up Nice Dream paid $4.00, $3.60. Captains Watch was third by 13 and three-quarter lengths and paid $5.40.
The Chuck Sylvester trainee was driven to his fourth win with two seconds in six career starts by Jim Marshall III.
The brown colt has now banked $75,000 for owner and breeders Mal and Janet Burroughs LLC of Westwood, New Jersey.
Lous Legacy, who won the $85,000 Harold Dancer final on September 17 at Freehold, holds the NJSS-Green Acres record for two-year-old trotting colts of 1:59.2, which he set on September 3.
