Nine Straight For Jennas Pass

Jennas Pass toted an eight-race winning streak into Sunday’s $12,500 Fillies & Mares Open Pace at Fraser Downs, and after being treated to a sweet trip by trainer/driver Keith Clark she had no problem pushing the streak to nine

.

Jans Rich Girl marched to the position of command from Post 5, and she let by a little more than a length over Jennas Pass the quarter-pole in a snappy clocking of :27.1. Those two maintained their positions through the next two intervals in :56.1 and 1:24.3 before Clark pulled the trigger with the white-hot pocket-sitter.

Jennas Pass sprinted to the lead at the top of the stretch, and her :28.2 closing panel earned her the win by 1-1/2 lengths over Mystic Maiden in 1:53.1. Legal Suspensory rallied to finish third, with the final cheques in the five-mare affair going to Doober Hoozzitz and Jans Rich Girl.

Sent off as the 6-5 favourite, Jennas Pass won for the 12th time this season and for the 23rd time in her career. Clark shares ownership on the career winner of $185,474 with Verne Rae and Macpherson Standardbreds of Calgary, AB.
