Norman Reibeling Passes

Longtime horseman Norman Reibeling passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday, November 4 at his home in Drayton, Ont. at the age of 73

.

He was born in Elma Township and was the son of the late Lincoln and Ella Reibeling. For years Reibeling served as the paddock blacksmith at Elmira and Grand River Raceways, and also trained and owned standardbreds. His son, Kyle, followed him into the harness racing business and currently trains horses.

Beloved husband of Shirley (Ward) Reibeling whom he was married to for 55 years. Loving father of Kathy Reibeling & Peter Woods of Harriston, Karen & James Bast of Wellesley, Kevin & Colleen Reibeling of Listowel, Kerry & Joan Reibeling of Drayton, Kim & Scott Hardy of Waterloo, Kyle Reibeling and friend Kit of Fergus. Sadly missed by his 21 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Joyce & Albert Kuntze, Harold & Florence Reibeling, all of Milverton, Marj & Frank Weiler of Kitchener and Leona Reibeling of Stratford. Norman was predeceased by one grandson, Joshua Bast, brothers and sister-in law Robert Reibeling and Bruce & Kaye Reibeling.

Family and friends may call at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 7 Spencer St., Milverton on Sunday, November 6 from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.. The funeral will take place on Monday, November 7, 2011at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Jeff McCracken officiating. Cremation to follow. Interment at the Greenwood Cemetary, Milverton. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Drayton United Church.
