Kawartha Preferred To Lucky Terror
Lucky Terror went through a rough patch to start the month of October, but he’s been on a serious roll ever since for trainer Shaun McDonald
.
The four-year-old son of Western Terror-Miracle Luck was a winner in 1:52.3 at Woodbine Racetrack in a $23,000 conditioned event on October 24, and he altered his tactics to take home top honours in Thursday’s $12,000 Preferred-2 Pace at Kawartha Downs.
With Fred Brethour at the controls, Lucky Terror parked past the quarter pole in :27.3 before working his way to the lead and supplying the field with middle panels of :55.4 and 1:24.4. A :29.3 closing panel was good enough to earn the pacer the neck decision over Dark Prince in 1:54. Future Million rallied to be a lapped-on third.
Glenview Livestock Ltd of Wallenstein, ON owns the gelding, who improved his 2011 record to 3-0-1 in 10 tries with the victory. The nine-time winner lifted his lifetime earnings to $107,778.
