.

With the inside post advantage, Quality Goods and driver Reg Gassien took control of the field and carved out fractions of :27.3, :57.2 and 1:25.4. Meanwhile, Post 8 starter Shes A Maniac and driver Aaron Byron got away third in the nine-horse field and launched a first over attack after the opening quarter mark. The four-year-old daughter of Rocknroll Hanover-Check And Raise confronted the leader at the third quarter station, but Quality Goods carried her lead into the stretch. The persistent Shes A Maniac fought back though, and eventually wore down the pacesetter to score in a career-best 1:56 by two and a half lengths. Lil Motion and driver Jonathan Drury rallied wide from the backfield to come on for third.

David Byron trains the winning mare for Ontario owners Cary Cantelon, William Byron, Jeffery Ruch, and Craig Wallwin. The elimination runner-up now sports a record reading 6-7-4 in 23 seasonal starts with over $25,000 banked.

Shes A Maniac paid $13.90 to win as 5-1 fourth choice in the field.
