Sugar Valley Farm, Ohio's new stallion station co-owned by Billy Walters and Joe McLead, is proud to announce Woodstock, its inaugural stallion for the 2012 breeding season

.

Woodstock p,2,1:52.4; 3,Q1:50.3 ($178,926) was a $100,000 yearling and is a two and three-year-old stakes winner who sports the most royal pedigree to ever enter stud duty in the state of Ohio. He's a son of the great Rocknroll Hanover, and is out of Gothic Lady ($486,047), a Grand Circuit winning full sister to Hall of Fame racehorse and stallion Artsplace.

As a two-year-old Woodstock butted heads with one of the greatest crops in the history of the sport, including Rock And Roll Heaven, Sportswriter and One More Laugh. He won his first three starts as a freshman, including his Metro Stakes elimination, and took a rookie speed badge of 1:52.4 (with a final quarter clocking of :26.1) in just his second lifetime start. In the World Record Metro final (won by Sportswriter) Woodstock did all of the work in the first-over position and was still race-timed in 1:50.2.

In his three-year-old year Woodstock won a NJSS event and finished second in another where he was race-timed in 1:49.3. He also finished second in his elimination of the Cane Pace and was race-timed that day in 1:51 on the half mile track at Freehold. After being injured in the final of the Cane he was retired early.

The new stallion arrived at the Delaware, Ohio farm on Wednesday afternoon. Woodstock is managed by Aaron Waxman and Velocity Stallion Management and will stand for an introductory fee of $2,000 (U.S.). Some shares are still available.

Call Joe McLead (443-309-8688) or Billy Walters (740-272-0640) or email the farm at [email protected]

The farm, established in 1968 by Walters' father and McLeads' grandfather Dr. Dale Walters, is currently in negotiations with other stallion owners and is willing to discuss all plans going forward with anyone that is interested.
