Allamerican Motive Wins Sarnia Preferred
Allamerican Motive survived a first over journey en route to winning the featured $8,800 Preferred 3 Pace at Hiawatha Horse Park on Saturday night

Chris Johnston was in the bike for the five-year-old gelding's third straight Sarnia win. He settled Allamerican Motive in fourth early on and then sent the 5-2 second choice first over before the half. Allamerican Motive wore down the popular pacesetter, Justalittleluck (Nick Steward), in the stretch to prevail by one and three-quarter lengths in a season's-best 1:52.3. Philana Chalice (Danny Johnson) finished third.
Allamerican Motive paid $7.50 to win. The son of Four Starzzz Shark-Moonshaker is trained by Jerry Sims, who also shares ownership with Dr. Paul Gatfield of London, Ont. The win was his sixth in 22 seasonal starts and pushed his 2011 earnings over $30,000.
