Horse Dumps Driver, Heads For A Dip
It is not the norm to see horses at Plainridge Racecourse dump their drivers and try to go for a dip in nearby ponds, but that is exactly what happened Thursday night
at the Massachusetts oval.
According to a report by The Sun Chronicle, Fox Ridge Riley bolted from his handler, dumped his driver and found his way into an ankle-deep pond with the sulky still attached to him.
Several horsemen helped get the situation under control. Neither horse nor horsemen were injured.
The track's general manager said that the situation was definitely "an oddity."
