Jockeys Can Blog For Bookmakers
According to a report by The Telegraph, the British Horseracing Authority is set to lift a rule which currently bars jockeys from having writing deals with bookmakers.
The article explains that the BHA and the Professional Jockeys Association entered into negotiations earlier this year in order to allow the riders to blog or write columns for wagering organizations regarding their upcoming mounts.
Trainers had previously been allowed to utilize blogs and column with wagering organizations, thus creating a contradiction when jockeys were not allowed to.
The rule banning such action by jockeys is set to be lifted by the BHA this coming November. The organization's head of security, Paul Scotney, was quoted as saying, “It will give jockeys more freedom in this area."
