Jody Jamieson was once again the leading reinsman during the meet, which ran from May 19 to October 1. The two-time O'Brien Award winning driver racked up 138 victories in 595 outings with purses totalling over $4.3 million. Scott Zeron finished second with 104 trips to the winner’s circle in 676 starts.

For the first time, conditioner Tony O’Sullivan led all trainers in wins during the summer meet with 49 victories in 228 starts and over $1.3 million in earnings. The four-time O’Brien Award winning trainer, Casie Coleman, finished second with 41 wins in 172 outings.

“It means our hard work has paid off and we are seeing results for it,” said Cambridge, Ont. resident O'Sullivan of his leading status. “I think it is an accomplishment that I never thought would happen. To do as well as we have done and to win as many races as we have in the short period of time, I think is really great.”

Standardbred racing will relocate eastward up the 401 highway, kicking off its fall/winter meet on Monday, October 3 at Woodbine Racetrack.

Racing will return to a four-day-a-week schedule at the Rexdale oval with live racing on Monday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Also there is a change in post times. On Mondays the first race will line up behind the gate at 7:10 p.m. and from Thursdays to Saturdays first race post time is 7:30 p.m. These post times will be in effect until December.

The fall/winter meet, which runs through to May 2012, will feature some major stakes events including the Breeders Crown championships featuring over $6 million in purses, which is held on October 29 and the $2.4 million Super Finals for the top performers in the Ontario Sires Stakes program on November 12.
