Roger Fagan Passes
Earlier this week harness racing lost one of its senior members, Roger Joseph Fagan of Woodstock N.B.
Fagan passed away at his home on Friday, September 23 at the age of 82.
He is survived by his spouse, Jane Farrell; two sons, Patrick (Janet) Fagan, Roger Fagan Jr. one daughter, Susan Fagan and one step-son Chris DeWitt all of Alberta; three sisters, Marian Smith, Blanche Hawes and Marjorie Latham; five brothers, Valerie (Adrienne) Fagan, Gordon (Elsia) Fagan, Rene Fagan, Tommy Fagan and Raymond (Emmie) Fagan; several grand children, nieces and nephews. Roger was pre-deceased by his parents Frank and Stella (Donelle) Fagan; four sisters, Armeline, Lenita, Marie Matilda, and Mabel; two brothers, George and Frank Jr.
Fagan was a retired truck driver and was known for his passionate love of horses and harness racing. He was a longtime member of the United States and Canadian Trotting Associations, and was the proud owner of the racehorse named Adios Morgan.
Fagan is resting at the Scott Funeral Home, 815 Main Street, Woodstock, NB, with visiting on Monday, September 26, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 pm. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 27 at 10 a.m. from the Scott Funeral Home Chapel. Father Bill Weiss will be officiating, with interment in the Lower Fosterville Cemetery. If desired donations may be made to the Fosterville Cemetery or to the Extra Mural Hospital.
