Win The Thrill Contest Winner TBA
The winner of this season’s Ontario Sires Stakes Win The Thrill Contest will be chosen this Saturday night at Mohawk Racetrack during Grassroots Finals night
.
One lucky patron will become a first-time harness horse owner and go home with a share in the 2011 SBOA New Owner Mentoring Program. All other slots in this year’s program have already been taken as nine people have each invested $4,500 for a share of ownership and expenses on an OSS yearling.
The group’s Mentor, Brian Webster, will be on hand to meet and congratulate the newest member of the group which recently purchased the yearling Bad Boy Matt at auction for Tony O’Sullivan to train.
Finalists in the Win The Thrill contest have been qualifying since July 9 at six different Ontario tracks. Last chances for people to qualify to be a part of the Grand Prize draw will be Friday, September 30 at Grand River Raceway and Flamboro Downs.
A special section of Mohawk’s lower grandstand has been reserved exclusively for contest finalists and their guests. Their evening will include a question period with drivers, a multitude of draw prizes and will culminate with the Grand Prize draw following the last OSS race of the night (Race 10).
The first runner-up in the Win The Thrill Contest will receive four dinner tickets for the OSS Gold Super Finals at Woodbine on November 12, as well as one night’s accommodation. The second runner-up will receive a framed signed print by photographer Matt Waples.
