Susies Magic Gets Up In Miss Versatility Finale
Driver Jody Jamieson and the Tony O'Sullivan-trained Susies Magic utilized a pocket trip to get up for victory in the final strides of the $117,500 finale of the Miss Versatility Series this evening at the Delaware Ohio County Fairgrounds.
The mile was clocked in 1:54.2 by Susies Magic. Godiva Hall (driven by Andy Miller) cut the fractions in :27.2, :56.2 and 1:25.1 and finished a game second. Falls For You, who with driver Brian Sears started from Post 8, finished third.
"I've watched her raced lots and knew she was kind of a trip horse," said Jamieson. "Tony said the same thing. Get the two-hole on a half-mile track -- get a chance to sit in the two-hole, rather.
"I didn't want to get caught in, so I moved her a little bit early and it was enough to get by. She gave me that punch to get by, so she was good."
