ASHA Yearling Sale Average Increases
The 2011 ASHA Sale was held in Olds Alberta at the Olds Agricultural Society Megadome on Saturday afternoon and it was a promising sale in consideration of the economic downturn and the state of racing in Alberta
.
There were 54 horses out of a possible 62 - with 6 withdrawn – during this year’s ASHA Sale, with an average price of $6,242 and total sales of $384,600. Last year’s average price was $5,804 with sales totaling $487,496.
The sale topper was Hip # 45, Tip Top Tap. The Camystic-Tapioca Hanover colt was purchased by Lorne Duffield for $30,000.
Other notables sales were Hip # 58, Big N Bad, for $22,000 to J J J Stables out of Aldergrove, BC, $23,000 for the purchase of Hip #24, Campaign Boy by Jamie Gray and partners, and Gerry Hudon paid $24,000 for Hip # 25, American Passion, an American Ideal-Felicia Hanover filly.
