Cecils Express notched his fourth win in a row for trainer-driver Gilles Barrieau as he pulled away from the pack in the stretch on Saturday afternoon in the featured $1,850 Winners Over Pace at Fredericton Raceway

Ceciles Express sat third through early fractions of :28.4 and :58.1 in the 15th race before advancing first up. The four-year-old son of Million Dollar Cam-Shady Spot was within a half-length of the lead by the 1:27 three-quarters mark, and quickly collared pacesetter After Lunch Larry (Todd Trites). He opened up three and a half lengths down the stretch en route to his fifth win in 10 seasonal starts. The winning time of 1:55.4 was one-fifth of a second off his lifetime mark and four-fifths of a second off the all-age track record.
After Lunch Larry was second and pocket-sitter Dance Hanover (Stephen Trites) was third. Favourite Md Hardlys Success (Gord Hennessey) made a break due to broken equipment and pulled up.
Cecils Express paid $6.80 to win as the 5-2 second choice. Wayne Mac Rae of Fall River, N.S. owns and bred the gelding, who has banked $12,535 to date.
