Hiawatha Series Kicks Off

The filly and mare End Of Season Claiming Series began on Thursday night at Hiawatha Horse Park with driver Marc St. Louis, Jr. capturing three of the four $3,500 divisions for $4,000 claimers

St. Louis won the first division with Notalacofexecution ($10.30) in a career-best 1:57 for trainer Janice McEachern, and later scored in the final two splits with the Ashley Nostadt-trained One More Hug ($5.20) in a season's best 1:54.4 and Maywood Park regular Stephs Melody ($4.60), who lowered her lifetime mark to 1:56.1 for trainer and co-owner Britney Dillion.

Alex Lilley won the other division with Roxanna Hanover ($20.10) in a season's best 1:57.2 for trainer-owner Gord McDonnell.
