E L Rock has been installed as the 9-5 morning line favourite for the $75,000 final of the Charles Smith Stakes, and Dont Cry Lindy has received the 5-2 early nod for the $65,000 final of the Helen Smith Stakes, both of which have been carded on Freehold Raceway's Friday, September 9 program

The Charles Smith for three-year-old trotting colts (Race 3) and the Helen Smith for three-year-old trotting fillies (Race 5) will share the spotlight with a pair of non-wagering stakes events for two-year-old trotters: the $60,000 Harold Dancer for colts and the $50,725 Marion Dancer for fillies. Each of the races are for New Jersey-sired trotters.

E L Rock, a gelded son of Yankee Glide, will start from Post 5 with George Brennan driving. The Anette Lorentzon trainee comes into the Charles Smith with two wins and a third in nine starts this year for ACL Stuteri AB of Paris, Kentucky.

Catello Manzi is listed to drive Dont Cry Lindy, who will start from Post 5 in the Helen Smith. The daughter of Chocolatier has a win and three seconds from nine starts this year for the ownership of Martin Sternberg of Brookville, New York and Alvin Katz of Port Washington, NY.
