Settlemoir Named Second Jug Announcer
The Little Brown Jug has announced that Jason Settlemoir will be the second announcer during 2011 Grand Circuit Week at the Delaware Ohio County Fair
.
The native of Newark, Ohio, whose entire life has been devoted to harness racing, will also continue as the fair’s simulcast director. Settlemoir will replace Steve Cross as assistant to Hall of Fame announcer Roger Huston.
Settlemoir is also vice-president of racing and simulcasting for Tioga Downs and Vernon Downs in New York where he oversees racing, simulcasting, race sponsorships and social media along with group sales at Tioga Downs.
He actually has worked at the Delaware County Fair since 1995.
“My first job was putting blankets on the winning horses in the winner’s circle. Then about eight years ago I became simulcast director," Settlemoir explained. "Both Tom Thomson and Phil Terry were a great help to me in becoming simulcast director and now as the assistant to Roger Huston.
"It has always been a dream of mine to announce races at the Delaware Fair for the Thomson and Terry families. I appreciate everything they have done for me personally and professionally. This is truly an honour.”
