Byron Clicks For Six At KD

There was no stopping driver Aaron Byron on Thursday at Kawartha Downs, as the reinsman racked up a six-win performance during the track’s 13-race program

.

Byron got off on the right foot taking the opener in upset fashion with Shabuey. The free-legged mare, who was sent off at odds of 29-1, drew off to win by eight lengths in 1:57.1.

Posh Moment also used off-the-pace tactics to score in Race 3, giving Byron the driving double early on the card. He returned to victory lane with War King Ton (1:58.2) in Race 8 and then again with Bond Blue Chip (1:56) in Race 9. He capped off his solid day at the office by sweeping the Late Double with Let There Be Rock (1:56.3) in Race 12 and Sterling Seelster (1:57.3) in Race 13.

The productive performance by Byron leaves him just one win behind Kawartha Downs’ leading driver Gord Brown in the race for this year’s dash title. Brown, who didn’t compete on Thursday’s card, has 82 wins this season and Byron’s six-win day puts him at 81.
