SOANY Wants A Healthy Lederman Back
On Monday, August 15, the Standardbred Owners Association of New York passed a resolution donating $1,000 towards defraying the costs of Freehold track announcer Larry Lederman's continuing quest to return to
perfect health.
In making the donation, the SOA of NY and its horsemen recognize that Lederman has and will continue to be a positive force in racing and acknowledge that he is one of our sport's all time great announcers. While the SOA of NY realizes that Lederman has spent much of his professional career on the "other" side of the Hudson, he has always helped out in New York, specifically at Yonkers Raceway, and anywhere else when called upon. John Brennan and other SOA directors were so impressed by the help given him this past Saturday evening at The Meadowlands that a special meeting was called to lend a helping hand to a friend, separate and apart from that which was done at The Meadowlands.
The SOA of NY encourages horsemen and all others who are involved in our industry to help out this true and enduring friend of harness racing. Help out or not, how about sending a get well soon note to Larry Lederman at 69 Probasco Rd, East Windsor, N.J. 08520? Bet he love to hear from you as much as you want to continue to hear from him at Freehold Raceway!
(SOANY)
First of all I hope that
First of all I hope that your future gets bright and I am sure it will,
Second and most of all THERE IS NO OTHER PERSON, That I would rather listen to than you Larry, in fact for whole time you were at GSP, it was the only reason I was even coming to the track, you could and have made a miserable day at the track quite enjoyable, I have told this a million times but when you were calling the cane and the U.S. basketball team had just won the bronze metal, you worked that into the race and then said who cares, and the two that
I love the most are when you were calling a race and a horse that was a kazillion to one but all six wheels are shaking, and the best is when I beleive RON P,was on this horse and you said it is (forgot the name of the horse )but you said he is first over and I wonder if he took the wrong route, whatever all I can say is you are the best that has ever been and there will be another like you and with all my heart Thanks for the memories that made me stay in this sport, and beleive me besides the money, which wasn't enough often enough you and your calling of a race kept me there
THANK YOU VERY MUCH AND GOD BLESS YOU
Larry is the absolute best
Larry is the absolute best race caller in the business... of any breed. I would listen to him read the ingredients off the side of cereal boxes.
Wish him all the best. Get well soon
Lederman can make a $2500
Lederman can make a $2500 claimer sound as exciting as the NA Cup. I love listening ti him call races and I hope he will be back to call races for many many more years.
My prayers are with him during this very difficult time in his life and I pray for the Lord to watch over Mr. Lederman and return him to health not only for racing but for the sake of his family and for those who know him and love him.
God Bless
