Standardbred Canada and the I Love Canadian Harness Racing Fan Club will honour Jody Jamieson for his recent World Driving Championship title in a trackside presentation at Flamboro Downs, this Sunday

(August 14) prior to the start of the Confederation Cup card, which will kick off at 1:00 p.m.

Jamieson will also be on hand at the Fan Club booth from 11:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. to greet racing fans, show off his World Driving Championship trophies, and autograph WDC photos.

Jamieson won the 2011 World Driving Championship of harness racing on Friday, August 5 after accumulating the most points at the end of the five-day, 20 race competition hosted by the United States Trotting Association. The USA's Corey Callahan finished second and Spain's Juan Antonio Riera-Rossello was third.

The victory was worth a $25,000 paycheque and an automatic entry into the 2013 World Driving Championship in France.

Jamieson, the leading driver on the Woodbine Entertainment Group circuit for both wins and money, won the Ontario Regional Driving Championship at Western Fair Raceway at the end of March and the National Regional Driving Championship at Red Shores Racetrack & Casino at Charlottetown Driving Park in early May to qualify to represent Canada in the World Driving Championship for the fourth time.

Jameson had previously won the WDC in Finland in 2001, and finished second in 2003 in Canada before having finished eighth in 2005 in Italy.
