Power Park Returns To Quebec A Winner
Power Park's return to Quebec was a triumphant one. In his first start in the province in three years, the 11-year-old stallion unleashed his familiar stretch kick to score a one-length victory Sunday in the eighth race at
Hippodrome de Quebec, a $2,300 pace.
Patiently driven by Stephane Brosseau, the 7-5 favourite tracked pacesetter High Profile, sat chilly on the final turn while hemmed in by an outside rival, then sprinted up the inside to score in 1:59.
It was Power Park's 61st career win, and gave him the distinction of having at least one victory in 10 consecutive years.
A winner of almost $900,000 in his career, he's owned by trainer Jean Beaulieu, Gilbert Sauve and Jean Mondoux.
