LeDrew Returns To The Sulky

A familiar face returned to the track at Cornerstone Raceway Tuesday.

Coming off an extended suspension Glenn LeDrew was back in the seat for the first time this summer in Saskatchewan, and he picked up a pair of wins to mark the return

.

LeDrew said he was just happy to be back driving.

"It's a nice feeling to be back," he said. "You do miss it...for sure you miss it. It's great to be back for sure."

After watching from the sidelines through June and July, LeDrew said it took a race or two to feel completely comfortable in the bike.

"By the second, or third race it was kind of back," he said, adding it's not just knocking off the rust. "...When you're off everybody gets a little bit ahead."

But the 10-year veteran was soon back in a winning way as the second and third races both went to LeDrew. In the night's second race, LeDrew took Kinset Hanover to the winner's circle for owner Ronald McLeod, and trainer Seth McLeod, topping Richard Remillard with Invincible Yankee, and Kevin Siever with Good One.

"She [Kinset Hanover] raced great," he said, adding when he took the mare to the lead she responded with a great race.

LeDrew credited Nolan and Seth McLeod for having the seven-year-old ready.

"The nice thing about the win was seeing the kids [Nolan and Lance McLeod] coming down the track [for the win photo]," said LeDrew, adding it was great when "Lance gave me a high-five," for driving the win.

LeDrew made it two in-a-row taking the Custom Printers Ltd. feature in the third, piloting Stonebridge Camlot to top spot, over Clayton Braybrook with Thief On The Run, and Donald Tracey with Camaction.

LeDrew said he was happy to be asked to drive Stonebridge Camlot, adding owners Annabelle Pirie and Ken Hanson are great people in the standardbred business.

"It was a really nice call to get the drive," he said.
