MSOA Announces Scholarship Recipients
The Meadows Standardbred Owners Association is pleased to announce the selections for its 2011 Collegiate Scholarship Program
.
In all, $8,500 has been awarded, courtesy of the MSOA in conjunction with partners CSC Insurance and LCM Nutraceuticals.
This year’s winners are Michael Fahy, Chelsea Fahy, Jillian Fedoris and Michelle Baxendall.
Michael Fahy, 18, of Washington, Pennsylvania, is the recipient of $2,500 courtesy of the MSOA. The son of Bill and Moira Fahy will be entering Marietta College in the fall as an International Business and Asian Studies major.
Chelsea Fahy, 20, is also receiving $2,500 from the MSOA. She will be a junior this fall at the University of Findlay, studying Pre-Vet/Animal Science. She is the daughter of Bill and Moira Fahy.
Jillian Fedoris, 21, has been awarded $2,500 courtesy of CSC Insurance. The Belle Vernon, Pennsylvania resident is the daughter of John Fedoris and Debra Hawker, and will be a senior this fall at Waynesburg University, majoring in Nursing.
Michelle Baxendall, 18, is the recipient of the $1,000 Dr. Barry C. Betts Memorial Scholarship, presented by LCM Nutraceuticals. From Belle Vernon, Pennsylvania, Michelle is the daughter of Martin and Elizabeth Baxendall, and will be entering Allegheny College this fall.
“We are pleased to award the scholarships again this year,” said MSOA President Rich Gillock. “All four recipients are deserving individuals and the MSOA is happy that we are able to help pay for their education, along with our partners CSC Insurance and LCM Nutraceuticals.”
All four will be honoured in the winners circle with a presentation during the Adios Day card at the Meadows on Saturday, July 30.
